Astronauts for Hire Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement on December 1
Titusville, Florida – Astronauts for Hire (A4H) is proud to join more than 30,000 other charitable organizations participating in #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support. A4H accepts donations on #GivingTuesday and all other days at www.astronauts4hire.org.
A4H is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides professional development opportunities for aspiring astronauts. A4H’s commercial astronaut candidates are accomplished scientists and engineers who can support a wide variety of payloads. The organization is instrumental in developing mission concepts into viable parabolic, suborbital, and orbital flight experiments, taking advantage of the next-generation of new commercial spacecraft currently in development. Several programs such as Project PoSSUM and others have demonstrated the abilities of A4H members to accomplish cutting-edge space research programs, while enabling potential flight opportunities for qualified personnel.
The team at A4H also works with school and STEM programs such as Project Lead the Way and World Space Week to help instill excitement and awareness of the commercial space industry in youth and local communities. Recent efforts across the United States and Canada have seen hundreds of excited secondary school students exposed to unique and dynamic curriculum showcasing what space can offer, and how they can be directly involved in the future.
"The development of the space frontier is the ultimate humanitarian goal to ensure a sustainable future for our species and our planet," said A4H President and CEO Brian Shiro. "A4H is a non-profit organization which advances that goal by supporting research and education initiatives to build a strong future for humanity in space. We are proud to embark on our second year with #GivingTuesday and make an impact with this global conversation."
A4H is on the forefront of the new commercial space revolution, and is working to inspire the next generation of engineers and astronauts. For more details and to support Astronauts for Hire as the nonprofit of your choice, please visit:
